Erika (she/her) resides in Astoria, NY and has spent the last thirteen years working in sexual and reproductive health care. She has led an award-winning volunteer program for Planned Parenthood, managed a three-state government grant portfolio, and once designed and sewed several ball gowns made out of condoms. Now specializing in communications and marketing strategy, with a strong design and UX background, Erika serves as Planned Parenthood of Greater New York’s Director of User Experience and Design. Erika has also spent the last eight years working as a freelancer, providing brand identity development, graphic and web design, communications and marketing strategy, and user experience expertise to a wide variety of clients - from local farms, to political candidates, to social justice organizations.
Erika originally hails from Connecticut, where her family owns and runs an organic farm. Prior to making a home in Queens, Erika has lived in Boston, Florida, Vermont, and Maine. Erika is an all-season beach goer and hiker, an avid reader, a marathon runner, a classically trained singer and a so-so knitter. All of these many passions have fueled Erika’s lifelong love of design, with an emphasis on bold colors and emboldened brands.
